The British Columbia Economic Development Association is excited to announce an exciting one-year
Friday, February 16, 2018 - 12:09pm
In the last month we have been very busy putting the final touches to the BC Economic Summit, developing some new member resources and getting ready to participate in the Inter-Provincial Summit of Economic Development Organizations in Alberta. But for me the most exciting project was the trip of the EDABC Economic Recovery Team to Burns Lake.
I have been involved in Economic Development for over 20 years, attracted and retained thousands of jobs and nothing has been as rewarding for me as the trip to Burns Lake. Being able to assist a community in need was simply unforgettable. Burns Lake has a strong future and I hope the recommendations put forward by our team will help them as they work to revitalize the local economy. Our team was amazing and I personally would like to thank them for the commitment of time and resources to participate in the initiative. I believe it showed the value of EDABC and most importantly the value of the profession of economic development.
We hope you have registered for the BC Economic Summit. If you have not we encourage you to do so soon. The event will be well attended and it will be a good opportunity to network with Industry, EDO's, and government officials.
Have a good April.
Regards, Dale Wheeldon, CEO

IEDC's 2012 Annual Conference will address the challenges and opportunities of growing jobs and investment in today's global economy. By energizing and empowering regional partners through shared messaging, resources, and best practices, communities small and large can benefit and remain competitive. You will explore key questions facing the Economic Development profession, including:
* How can communities capture opportunities today to catalyze growth for tomorrow?
* What new tools and strategies are essential to making communities relevant and resilient in the changing global economy?
* How can economic developers sharpen their skills to become more flexible, adaptable leaders?
* How can communities identify and develop assets that are cost-effective and complement their strengths?
Working with our partners at ICBA Benefit Services, EDABC has developed a comprehensive benefits program for members of EDABC. You may also pass this information on to your board members and local companies as an option they may wish to consider. We only ask that you make sure they ask that EDABC be credited when signing up and perhaps purchase a membership in EDABC.
This program is available to EDO's and staff, private consultants, development companies, small businesses and anyone else that may have an interest in supporting the economic growth of our Province. This plan is competitively priced and is available to any sized company.
