Executive Director - Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association

The Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association (KCBIA) seeks an experienced Executive Director to lead the Business Improvement Association for Downtown Kamloops. The KCBIA pursues a leader that is an independent, motivated individual who can work with a board of directors comprised of downtown Property and Business Owners.

Title: Executive Director

Reports to: The ED is an employee of the KCBIA and reports directly to the Board of Directors.

Salary and Benefits: The KCBIA Board of Directors has established a competitive salary and benefits package that is appropriate for this position and commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities of the Executive Director (refer to Full Job Description for more detail):

The Executive Director (ED) will provide efficient and effective leadership and ensure the completion of all activities for the KCBIA. Also reach the key short and long-term goals of the strategic plan while striving to achieve the overall objective of improving the attractiveness of Downtown Kamloops as a place for business owners, property owners and the public to invest, work, live, entertain and shop.

  • Relationships – Business and community groups, the City, KCBIA membership & media.
  • Financial – Budgeting, cost control, fundraising & grant writing.
  • Leadership – The ED is to focus on achieving the strategic plan of the KCBIA as set out by the BOD. As well as identify and assess internal and external issues that will affect the KCBIA.
  • Operational – Oversee all areas of Marketing, Development, Governance, Relationships and day-to-day operations of the BIA. Manage the office of the BIA, the workforce, create a yearly work plan and provide advice, council, direction, and intelligence to the Board of Directors.
