Tariffs and trade uncertainty are creating new challenges for businesses across British Columbia. Navigating Tariff Impacts in British Columbia has been developed as a practical resource for B.C. businesses, economic development professionals and business-support organizations.
The guide is designed to help businesses understand their exposure, protect cash flow, strengthen supply chains, diversify customers and markets, and identify federal and provincial programs that may assist.
It is also intended to help economic development officers, Community Futures organizations, Chambers of Commerce, Indigenous economic development organizations, municipalities, regional districts, BIAs, tourism organizations and other partners support businesses experiencing trade disruption.
The tariff environment is changing quickly, and new programs, funding initiatives and business supports continue to be announced.

We encourage businesses and business-support organizations to check back regularly for updates. Program eligibility, funding levels, application periods and tariff measures can change quickly, so businesses should always confirm current requirements directly with the organization delivering the program before making financial or business decisions.
This guide is intended to be used, not simply downloaded.
Communities and business-support organizations are encouraged to incorporate it into their Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) activities, Business Walks, sector outreach, surveys, business calls, newsletters and one-on-one discussions with businesses. The guide can also help communities establish referral pathways and identify recurring issues or gaps that may need to be brought to the attention of provincial or federal governments.
Across British Columbia, communities and organizations are developing their own responses to help businesses navigate tariff impacts.
