EDAC is Canadas national organization of economic developers pursuing excellence in the field since 1968. The association offers its members professional development, networking opportunities and a comprehensive offering of resources, both on and offline.
What does EDAC offer?
Established in 1985, Community Futures is Canada’s longest-running national community economic development (CED) program. The program is designed to strengthen local economies, build self-reliance, and help smaller communities achieve their full sustainable potential.
Across Canada, 268 Community Futures (CF) organizations deliver these services, including 34 located in British Columbia. Community Futures British Columbia (CFBC) proudly represents this Network and its impactful work to all levels of government and key stakeholders.
While services vary among regions, CF organizations typically provide access to business loans, advisory services, information and referrals, as well as support for community strategic planning and local economic development initiatives. Each CF manages an investment fund made up of federal government contributions and earnings retained from lending activities.
CFBC supports its members through governance and operational training for boards and staff, by facilitating networking and events, leading marketing and communications initiatives, and coordinating special projects that strengthen the Network and the communities it serves.
Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) is a unique non-profit organization dedicated to helping manufacturers GROW and become MORE COMPETITIVE, at home and around the world.
