DisasterSmart and Professional Development Auction

Support Communities and the Professionals Who Serve Them – Donate an Auction Item

Every year at the BC Economic Summit, our annual auction does more than create a bit of fun competition. It powers our ability to show up for communities when disaster strikes, and to provide tools, resources, and training to help build resilient local and First Nation communities throughout British Columbia.

Proceeds from the auction directly support two critical priorities:

Disaster Recovery & Economic Resilience

Funds raised help power the BCEDA Economic Disaster Recovery and Resiliency Program, providing hands-on support to communities in times of crisis – including disaster response, business outreach, and long-term economic recovery planning following events such as wildfires, floods, and other emergencies.

Professional Development for Economic Development Officers (EDOs)

Your donation also supports professional economic development training and resources for EDOs working in Local Governments and First Nation communities. These funds help deliver training, tools, peer learning opportunities, and leadership development that strengthen local capacity and create more resilient, prosperous communities.

Together, this work ensures that BC communities are supported both during emergencies and in building strong local economies before and after disaster strikes.

We invite businesses, organizations, and individuals to donate an auction item and help invest in the people and programs that drive BC’s economic resilience.
