Lead the Future of Economic Development in BC

President & CEO

The British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as its next President & CEO.

As the leading voice for economic development practitioners across British Columbia, BCEDA represents over 80% of local governments, First Nations, and economic development organizations. Through leadership, advocacy, professional development, and strategic connections, BCEDA plays a critical role in shaping resilient, competitive, and inclusive economies across the province.

This is more than a leadership role — it is an opportunity to influence economic development policy and practice at a provincial level, strengthen relationships across governments and Indigenous communities, and drive meaningful impact in communities of all sizes.

The Opportunity

Working within a modern, contractor-based model, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the organization
  • Strengthen partnerships with provincial and federal governments, First Nations, and industry
  • Champion the needs and priorities of economic development practitioners
  • Lead high-impact initiatives, including the BC Economic Summit and professional development programs
  • Advance economic resilience, recovery, and long-term community prosperity

A structured transition period will support continuity and knowledge transfer as the organization moves forward.

  • Shape the future of economic development across British Columbia
  • Influence policy, investment, and community outcomes at a provincial scale
  • Work at the intersection of government, Indigenous leadership, and industry
  • Lead a respected organization with strong momentum and credibility
  • Drive innovation in how economic development is delivered and supported
